Woman’s Biggest Enemy is Ruthless and Your Reason for Low Self-Esteem

Woman’s Biggest Enemy

Who is woman’s biggest enemy?

When I start writing a blog article, I research content on the internet after I map out my idea. I want to ensure my article isn’t duplicating content that is already saturated.

When I type in the key phrase “woman’s biggest enemy”, I was pleasantly surprised to find the content wasn’t similar at all (Based on the 1st page of Google). The majority of the articles state that “women are their own worst enemy”. Some of these authors wrote about back-stabbing women and other’s believe women are their worst enemy because of their lack of confidence or self-esteem.

This made me think. Why is it that many women struggle with low self-esteem? Because I don’t believe women are their own worst enemy. I believe there is an outside influence causing women to not know the truth about how wonderful they truly are.

Lies Women Believe

The first lie told on earth was believed by the woman which caused her to be deceived from the beginning of time. ~Living All In

As Christians, we believe that God created man and woman. We also know that Adam and Eve were the first couple on earth and walked with God in the Garden of Eden. It was during this time the first lie is told and believed by Eve.

In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve were instructed by God to eat anything in the garden except for one fruit. They could eat as much as they wanted of everything else, which was endless. The fallen angel, Lucifer, approached Eve and told her that God didn’t want her to eat it because then she would know everything that God knows. Eve listened to her enemy and began to feel that God was holding out on her. She didn’t want to miss out on anything so she ignored God’s warning and took a bite of the forbidden fruit. Adam stood next to Eve and watched the entire situation play out as he then chose to take the next bite.

With Adam and Eve both accessible, why do you think Satan chose to attack the woman instead of the man? I never really thought about this question until I read a book called, Captivating.

Woman’s Biggest Enemy According to the Book, Captivating

“Why does Satan make Eve the focus of his assault on humanity?

You may know that Satan was first named Lucifer, or Son of the Morning. It infers a glory, a brightness or radiance unique to him. Many believe he was the captain of the angel armies of God.

Perfect in beauty…Lucifer was gorgeous. He was breathtaking. And it was his ruin. Pride entered Lucifer’s heart. The angel came to believe he was being cheated somehow. He craved the worship that was being given to God for himself. He didn’t merely want to play a noble role in the Story; he wanted the Story to be about him.

Satan fell because of his beauty. Now his heart for revenge is to assault beauty.
But most especially, he hates Eve.

Because she is captivating, uniquely glorious, and he cannot be. The evil one also hates Eve because she gives life. Women give birth, not men. Eve means “life” or “life producer”. “Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living.” (Gen. 3:20)

Put those two things together – that Eve incarnates the Beauty of God and she gives life to the world. Satan’s bitter heart cannot bear it. He assaults her with a special hatred. You are hated because of your beauty and power.”

The Reason Satan is Woman’s Biggest Enemy

Because Satan despises women so much, I believe he attacks us with more hatred than men. Satan tries to strip away our confidence. He doesn’t want us to believe we have something beautiful to offer the world. Satan’s goal is to steer us away from God, and sabotage our relationships by tricking us into believing lies about ourselves. Believing lies create toxic thoughts that can destroy us. If you want to learn more about how to stop those toxic thoughts I have an article you should read, click here.

Every day we fall under Satan’s attacks; the attack of not being good enough or pretty enough. He tells us that we aren’t adequate or worthy unless we look a certain way physically. When we make a mistake he overwhelms us with guilt that causes us to believe we are a bad friend, wife or mother.

Satan knows all our weaknesses and he always uses those against us. He knows when and how to attack; just like a lion on the hunt. A lion will slowly approach their prey and stalk them until they see the perfect moment to pounce. A lion doesn’t always go for the quick kill; they often drag their prey, sometimes over considerable distances, to a sheltered spot before eating it. Satan will do the same thing. He will bring one problem on top of another until you feel physically and mentally tortured.

Satan and his army aren’t picky about whom they attack. Satan doesn’t care if you are a Christian, Atheist, black, white, tall, short, skinny or overweight. His sole purpose is to prevent you from learning the truth about what God has planned for you and to keep you from knowing Jesus. He wants to drive a wedge so large between you and God that all you see is the trouble in front of you with the feeling of desperation and hopelessness. Satan’s strategy is to destroy you by steering you down the path of misery and self-destruction.

The thief approaches with malicious intent, looking to steal, slaughter, and destroy…
(John 10:10)

How to Defeat Satan, Woman’s Biggest Enemy

I don’t mean to scare you with all that negative information about Satan. I write these things because Satan is the real enemy and he does want to hurt you. The positive side is that you can resist him and he will flee from you. You can’t fight him alone; you must lean into God’s truth and know his word so you aren’t tricked into believing Satan’s lies about yourself.

Remember, when you are going through a difficult time, God will fight for you! Click To Tweet

You know your weaknesses! Those are the areas that he will attack. Study the Word and find God’s truth about those weaknesses. Then you can select the right armor to fight Satan. The right armor is always speaking the truth to Satan. He hates that!

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)

10 Bible Verses for Self-Esteem

When you are feeling weak or Satan is attacking your self-esteem, review these bible verses. Pray about it and declare them over your life. Satan will not flee immediately, but the more consistent you are in not giving him a foothold in your life; he will get bored and spend more time attacking someone else.

1. Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things in Him who strengthens me.”

2. Psalm 46:5 “God is within her, she will not fall.”

3. Proverbs 31:25 “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.”

4. Psalm 28:76 “The Lord is my strength and my shield.”

5. 1 Corinthians 25:10 “By the grace of God, I am what I am.”

6. Romans 5:8 “I loved you at your darkest.”

7. Psalm 62:5-6 “Only God gives inward peace, and I depend on Him. God alone is the mighty rock that keeps me safe, and he is the fortress where I feel secure.”

8. 2 Timothy 1:7 “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.”

9. 1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”

10. 2 Chronicles 20:15 “The battle is not ours, but God’s.”

A Little Reminder

Remember that you were created by the Almighty God. He is bigger than any problem! God is the all-knowing King. In Jeremiah it says…He has plans to prosper you. Lastly, he is more powerful than any of Satan’s schemes.
